Welcome to LocalAbolitionists.org. We are a group of people in Oak Park and the surrounding communities who desire to fight for the cause of justice. Specifically, we feel led to expose the horror of Human Sex Trafficking, Forced Labor and other types of Slavery around the world.
We’re not sure what Local Abolitionists will be in the future, but for now we’re hoping it helps rally our community around this issue.
Our second effort will take place on January 18th, at the Oak Park Public Library. We will be showing a special screening of a film by the International Justice Mission called “At the End of Slavery“. Please browse this site, learn more about this film and it’s cause, and then join us on January 18th by RSVPing today.
And of course, we hope you will pass this information on to others in our community as well (you can start by posting this on Facebook or Twitter using the badges to the right).
More to come,
The Local Abolitionists (localabolitionists@gmail.com)
